Burke PLLC (formerly Burke Pyle LLC and Burke O'Neil) was formed in August 2005.

Susan Burke established the firm in order to litigate the Abu Ghraib torture cases. Susan has a wealth of experience litigating complex federal court actions, including antitrust, ERISA and employment, False Claims Act and RICO actions.

In January 2007, Elizabeth Burke, a University of Virginia law graduate who spent her formative professional years with Cleary Gottlieb (and Susan's sister), joined the firm as a partner. She spends the majority of her time in the Charlottesville, Virginia office, working primarily on the firm's human rights work and white collar investigations.
