Professional Experience
William T. O'Neil joined Burke O'Neil LLC in April 2006. Bill has over 15 years experience litigating and negotiating settlement of complex litigation on behalf of clients across the country, in state and federal courts. He has worked on matters ranging from health care fraud, internal investigations of pharmaceutical testing protocols, employment litigation, environmental disputes and insurance coverage for environmental claims, insurance coverage for class action product liability claims, trademark disputes, trade secrets and unfair competition, copyright royalties and many others. His clients have included the world's largest oil and gas companies, pharmaceutical companies, health care providers, electrical utilities, consumer product manufacturers as well as small start-up companies and solo practitioners.
Prior to joining Burke O'Neil LLC, Bill practiced in his own firm in suburban Washington, D.C. Prior to establishing his own firm, Bill was counsel to Swidler Berlin, LLP, where he also served as the Chief Operating Officer of Harbour Consulting, LLC, Swidler's in-house subsidiary providing financial, engineering and scientific analysis and support to firm clients, particularly the firm's insurance coverage practice group. Prior to Swidler Berlin, LLP, Bill was associated with the Washington, D.C. law firm Covington & Burling.
Education
William T. O'Neil received his J.D. degree from Duke University School of Law in 1990, where he was named a Samuel Fox Mordecai Scholar and served as an editor of Law & Contemporary Problems. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1985.
