Professional Experience

After a 25-year career as a public relations specialist in professional and intercollegiate sports, followed by 10 years in the non-profit sector as a corporate development officer and fund-raiser, John F. Geis, the staff’s paralegal, transitioned to a career in the legal profession in 2002.

John completed an accelerated paralegal studies program, earning cum laude honors, in 2003. He has worked in a firm environment, concentrating on medical malpractice and personal injury litigation, and as a contract paralegal, with class action and criminal defense assignments.

A member of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals, John was a member of PAP’s public relations and marketing committee, from 2003 thru 2007. Additionally, John coordinated the monthly Paralegal Page in The Legal Intelligencer, occasionally writing column features for the page. He is also an associate member of the Philadelphia Bar.

John recently completed a textbook collaboration with William P. Statsky, a California-based litigation attorney and author. The Pennsylvania Paralegal, a first-of-its kind resource text, roadmap and tutorial to all things legal in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, is scheduled for publication in early 2009.
